Organisers of the Long Course Weekend recently visited Greenhill School in Tenby to thank them for use of the school grounds for car parking over the weekend of LCW X at the start of July. With over 10,000 athletes and 30,000 spectators the area was well received by athletes, spectators and the local community to ease parking facilities and congestion in the centre of town. Lindy Eynon (pictured) of Greenhill School, who was central to the smooth management of the partnership, was on hand to receive the cheque for £1,000 from CEO Matthew Evans and Global Relationship Manager Oliver Duckett at the recent presentation. As an organisation LCW has always maintained a close relationship with local primary and secondary schools. From funded play area equipment to the recent introduction of primary school cycling lessons through a partnership with Welsh Cycling, plans are already in place to help maintain and develop these relationships over the coming years throughout the county.
