‘It’s getting colder & the weather is changing’
The outside air temperature is also dropping quickly so if you do go for a swim during the autumn, it does feel like you can cope with the colder waters more easily.
If you are still considering an outdoor swim in October, then here are some key tips to ensure you’re preparing yourself properly.
- Where are you swimming? – Plan your session. You won’t be able to complete the same session you did 2 months ago due to the colder water.
- How long are you swimming for?
- What are you wearing? thermal wetsuit? Double hat? Gloves? Boots?
- Never swim alone. Who is you buddy?
- Make sure you have warm clothes and a hot drink for when you get out.
