LCW Yorkshire Legacy Programme starts with Masham Primary School

The Long Course Weekend (LCW) Legacy Programme is proud to announce a generous donation of £500 to Masham Primary School, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local communities and fostering educational development.

The donation aims to enhance the learning environment for students, contributing to new educational resources, extracurricular activities, and other school initiatives that promote academic growth and student well-being. This initial contribution is part of LCW’s broader mission to leave a lasting, positive impact on the communities that host its renowned multi-sport events.

"We are delighted to support Masham Primary School through our Legacy Programme," said Oliver Duckett PGA, Global Relations Manager at Long Course Weekend. "Investing in the education and development of young minds is at the heart of our community initiatives, and we hope this donation will make a meaningful difference for the students and staff. Matthew, his staff and students have been very supportive of the event since its announcement in 2023 and we look forward to working with the school as the event grows in the coming years. It was a real pleasure to see so many of the children taking part in the LCKinder race last year and we can’t wait to welcome more of them (and their parents) to the start line in 2025."

Masham Primary School expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing how the donation will positively influence the educational experiences of their pupils.

"From everyone at Masham Church of England Primary School I would to say thank you to the LCW Legacy Programme team for their generous donation and this will have a huge impact on the pupils of Masham as it will be used to ensure that all pupils will be able to swim by the end of KS2." Matthew Boyle, Executive Head.
